The sentence IS grammatically correct, yet the point it conveys is incorrect. People are supposed to draw from this that we're trying to outthink the enemy. Intelligent people see this. The majority of America is NOT intelligent. Same for most of the world. To them, it sounds like just another flub by the President.

It's grammatically correct yes. But what he just said was that our enemies are always thinking of ways to harm the US and so are we. He obviously isn't planning shit to harm the US, and any intelegent person knows this. Still he's the fucking presendent. If he was some guy on a forum, you'd flame his ass for such things. I know I would. He either needed to say, "...and neither do we so we can prevent them." Or he needed to say something like, "...to harm our country and our people, so we are ever vigilent to detect and prodict what they are doing or going to do."
O, and definatly, we'd be in at least some arab country no matter who the Pres. was. The intel was retarded but whoever the Pres. would have gotten the same info and probably would have acted basically the same, your right.
And we would be a laughing stock even regardless of the war. GWB was a laughing stock in the US before 9/11, when all of a sudden the dumb shit he said wasn't funny anymore, or rather it wasn't even brought up much anymore. He all of a sudden was... I don't know... A reveared great man, fucking over night. Fucking Sept. 10th he was a dumb ass and Sept. 11th he was a fucking JFK or some shit.
