Musical Survey
Oh damn. Miss Fish has put me in a spot - my taste vary wildly, but let's see how I do!
Total volume on music files on my computer:
82.47 gig = 17943 songs (54 days and 12 hours of music)
The last CD I bought was:
"The John Byrd E.P." by Death Cab for Cutie
I buy used CDs - as many as possible. People like Emily divest themselves of CDs, I snag them up and make them my own. =) This CD however is brand spankin' new.
Song playing right now:
"Down Under" by Men at Work (Acoustic version with jammin' guitars)
Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me:
1. "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers - a song that either helps me get through it, or thank god everything's okay.
2. "Brandy" by Looking Glass - when this song comes on, I always crank up the radio and belt it out
3. "Stormy Weather" as done by the Smoking Popes - rocking punk + old time tunes = a win!
4. "American Jesus" by Bad Religion - Quite possibly the most perfect punk song ever
5. "Satan is my Motor" by Cake - This song is me. Literally.
Five people to whom I am passing the baton (i.e. do the survey):
1. Eric - We share some things, we don't share some others - I want to hear about it.
2. Justin - Give me the death metal run down
3. MC - Eclecticism for the win! =)
4. Kristin - More crazy tunes + your boyfriend's guitar
5. Kendall - Sure, she doesn't blog anymore... maybe she'll come back for it. =)

2 Comments:
Total volume on music files on my computer:
about 1400 songs, or 14 gig, but I have over two hundred albums that aren't ripped onto my already struggling hard drive.
The last CD I bought was:
bought? what is this "buy" you speak of? a sweet guitarist called kaki king, i think. other than that, i continue my music piracy until the first big debt-free paycheck.
Song playing right now:
"Meadowlake Street" by Ryan Adams. a bit soft, but builds up to glorious by the end.
Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me: I'm going to have to respond just for these past couple weeks, because they change a lot.
1. aforementioned Ryan Adams song
2. "Late" by Ben Folds...I had an epiphany that it's an ode to the late Elliot Smith. Wonder if I'm right.
3. "The Cool, Cool River" by Paul Simon
4. "The Obvious Child" by Paul Simon. Can't seem to get enough of this guy right now.
5. "The Blower's Daughter" by Damien Rice. Listened to his stuff before Ireland, but being there made me fall even deeper into it.
Five people to whom I am passing the baton (i.e. do the survey):
Um, anyone who wants to? Vallie?

See the problem is that Adam's musical tastes would be like "country this, country that, I used to listen to good music, but then I went to Texas". =P
